We had a great time watching the Dragons play with Grandma Engbers and Dennis and Laurie King.

Sports

This past week was our first week of practice. Brittany coaching the girls soccer and me with Track and Field.This is my first season of coaching Track. I only ran once in high school so there is a lot I need to learn.

Please pray for Brittany and I as we turn the page for this new season of ministry.

Visitor

Brittany's mom is in town and we are super grateful. Avery loves having her grandma around playing with her and taking her to the park. Avery is even saying grandma in her own special way.

Brittany and I bought a puzzle board so that we can start doing more puzzles but it was also so that Grandma can do them too because she likes to do puzzles.

We are doing a Totoro Puzzle from the movie "My Neighbor Totoro." A famous Studio Ghibili movie that was made in 1988. If you haven't seen it yet you should it's fun!

This Sunday I served the church by making coffee and tea. I do it every 3rd Sunday of the month. I also am going to serve in the sound ministry but I am just waiting for them to train me.

Philipians 2:1-4 Be United Together

2 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

We need to be loving and compassionate towards others.

Yes, people will offend you, give them mercy you don't know what people are going through.

mercy: not receiving what we deserve.

Paul was teaching the Philippians that they needed to be imitate Jesus's Humility. That they needed to work together and be harmonious. We will have misunderstandings but we need to be on on accord (symphony) (harmony) in order to work well together. Like a guitar, all the strings need to be finely tuned in order for it to sound nice. If one string is out of tune than it won't sound good.

We need not do things out of selfish ambition but look to encourage and be of service to others.

We need a common goal which is to glorify Jesus.

Prayer

Lord God help me and my family humble ourselves in order to better serve others. Help us learn to forgive and make things right and be more in unity with one another as we work together to glorify you Lord. Thank you for this opportunity to be in Okinawa and to serve OCSI (Okinawa Christian School International). Please guide us in this next week as we prepare for what's to come.
