It has been an amazing summer! Brittany and I got to surprise our Dad's brothers with our unexpected return back to Michigan. Like always we went to the lake house where we had a lot of fun doing an assortment of lake activities. Amongst being with family and recounting our past year.

Photography Class

  • At the end of the school year I approached my principal to let him know that I would love to teach a photography course at OCSI and he told me that there wasn't any space at the time.

  • But a week before school ends he asked me if I still wanted to do it and of course I said yes.

  • Have any of you heard of a Camera Obscura?

So I've been working on preparing for my photography class that I am going to teach in the spring.

This past year I've really got to use my passion for photography at school in so many ways.

  • We have a make shift studio where I've been practice with strobe lights.

  • Various action shots for sports and events

  • senior picture

    • I got the chance to take 2 senior portraits of students at our school a lot of

  • family portraits for families leaving the island.

You can see some of my pictures on my website or instagram page linked below.

It's been amazing seeing family and visiting Michigan. Funnily I just ran into a UPS driver that recognized me from my time when I worked there 7 years ago. So much has happened since I worked at UPS and lived in Kalamazoo and I can easily say that I am truly been blessed to be here in Okinawa and to be working at OCSI.

My Grandpa Neil

This summer my Grandpa Neil (mom's dad) passed away. I am glad we got a chance to see him and hear one of his motorcycle stories before he died.

This past year has been hard because his son and wife passed away in addition to finding out that he had stage iv pancreatic cancer

No one was anticipating that he was going to pass away this quickly.

But I'm happy he isn't suffering anymore and that I was able to be there for him with my family.

He was my last grandparent to pass away.

He's was someone who got me interested in Motorcycles.

Things to Pray for

  • Pray for new teachers coming to teach at our school.

  • Pray for a new school year that we may be able to be a good witness to the students

  • Pray for me and my teaching and coaching

  • Pray for Brittany with her new position at Keystone Church.

  • Pray for Avery as she grows and develops.

Please Lord guide our family this year so that we can make an impact for you.
