School is Fast Approaching!

Dear Family and Friends,

School is fast approaching and summer is coming to a close. This week we started teacher orientation and are only a few days away from in person school. This past summer has been a doozie! Brittany and I started off teaching summer school while I finished up my summer term taking 3 classes. After that we decided to take a trip to mainland to check out some Japanese history. We first went to Kyoto and visited a lot of different places while we were there which include the Fushimi Inari shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nishiki Market, Kiyomizu-dera, The Bamboo forrest, Tenryu-ji Temple, Yasaka-no-to Pagoda (Hōkan-ji Temple), Shijo-dori, and a Tea Ceremony just to name a few.

From Kyoto we went to Osaka and got to visit the Osaka Castle! And then we also got to go to Universal Studios of Japan.

After that we returned back to Okinawa to enjoy a few more weeks of R&R before school. In that time I was able to work in the wood shop with our wood shop teacher and make a bread box. We then connected with a person at our church who makes stickers and had her make a sticker that said bread in Japanese.

There is so much more we could say about our summer but I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves. We are really looking forward to what this upcoming school year has to offer even though it is going to be really busy with Brittany and I taking classes and me coaching Cross Country onto of teaching. But I know that the Lord is there to sustain us and provide for us in these times.
