Hello all,
First off I wanted to send a thank you to all of those who have graciously supported us. The year 2020 has been a crazy roller coaster ride of emotions. Brittany and I are very grateful to have been given the opportunity to return back to America to get married and celebrate it with most of our family. We were also very fortunate to have been let back into Japan to continue working and teaching at OCSI.
Christmas Break Arrived!
For some of our time off Brittany and I decided to go to North Japan. Because of the corona virus we couldn't leave the country so we decided to take a 3 day skiing trip to Niseko, Hokkaido (prefecture), Japan. Below are some pictures from our trip.
When we returned we were able to celebrate Christmas with family via video calls and with friends. We also got to shoot off some fireworks!

The New Year may have brought in some crazy events like the capitol riots but it also brought in my beautiful wife's 27th Birthday! Happy Bday Sweetheart!

In PE we have been teaching Parachute! For this unit I started by sitting down and sharing with them the story of Joseph and the coat of many colors. My intention was for them to be able to see the multi colored parachute and be reminded of Joseph and how God has a plan for them as well. We participated in a variety of different parachute/group activities to help the students learn how to work with one another and to help them build upper body strength, but most of all we had a lot of fun!
Lately I have found a great interest in woodworking and I have been building new projects with our schools wood shop teacher.
I have recently been serving coffee at my church and felt like they needed a new coffee dripper. I bought the wood from a local store nearby. The legs were fashioned by using a band saw to create a hour glass figure. Then I crafted the inside cross and calvary logo with a scroll saw. I also used a hole saw to cut the circles and then I used a router to route the inside and outside edges. It was a joy to make and I was very happy to present it to my pastor.
They use this dripper to serve coffee to people every Sunday.
I have just started a new unit in Basketball and we have allowed our high school students to come back and have a Basketball club. We are doing great and working hard during this time. It seems like life is back to normal besides the mask wearing and social distancing (best as we can) while we are at school.
My next unit will be gymnastics stunts and tumbling. I will be sure to post some great photos of the students in the next post!
Hope you enjoyed this post! Hope you all are staying safe!
